Problem in jk flip flop

I am using a '7476' jk flip flop in one of my circuit.
And pin details is given below,
J=K=PRE=CLR=VCC=1
GND=0
Clock is initially high and whenever I send a high to low signal to CLOCK using a tact switch, the values of Q must toggle between 0 and 1 (AS PER THE TT)
But the problem is Q need 2 or more clock pulses to toggle, sometimes one pulse is enough, I dont know the reason, anyone know the answers pls suggest me.

Don't you mean you are using a mechanical switch?
It may produce a number of glitches (fast on-off transitions during a few milliseconds). The clock pulse should be clean and fast; one hi-low signal then one lo-hi only.
For instance, is the TTL series of your flip flop very old? I mean, is its name exactly 7476?

Your circuit is true, but your switch does not work correct. when yo u push the switch, it is On and Off and On and Off repeatedly. so your JK Flip_Flop acts for several times and you can not predicts the state of it.

Yes I got it. for my application I need a toggle output when i press a tact switch. Do u have any ideas?

For instance and just to be sure, is it 7476 exactly or perhaps 74LS76 for example?

Yes, You can use a simple logic circuit composed of for NANDs or for NORs for eliminating the repeatedly on/off.
