When I simulate a rectangular waveguide filled with LHM(left handed material) using Ansoft HFSS, but there is an error:

[error] Port refinement, process abc3d : subprocess "wave detected an incorrect value for permittivity, permeability, or the loss factors"

Why?

Thanks a lot!!!

I had the same problem when I was simulating a rectagular waveguide. I filled one end of the waveguide with a LHM (µ=-1, ε=-1). I got the same error message. Then I moved the LHM to the middle of the waveguide so that it was surrounded by RHM. This worked. I guess LHM and the waveport boundary conditions are not compatible.
