practical applications of logical effort

I am just curious to know if logical effort is actually used in the industry design ...its very convincing to read though ...i just finished reading Logical Effort by Harris.......

Hi. usually asic designers do not need to understand the real details of logical effort, but EDA guys realy
care. If you are the designer from Synopsys, and you are programmers of Design Compiler, you should learn more about that.
