Power Gain VS Voltage Gain

Hi,

I got a question~
Why Power gain is more important than Voltage gain in RF Circuit?
What is the reason make power the natural quantity in RF circuit and system?

Voltage always depends on resistance and it is not easy to measure resistance on high frequencies. Power does not depends on resistance and therefore, it is more convenient parameter for RF and microwave technology.

In addition, you should consider that for RF signal chains (which are in most cases wireless) all parts (receiving and transmitting antennas, medium with losses, output and input stages, modulators and demodulators) have different resistances and noise contributions. It is much more easyier to calculate link budgets for signal and noise powers rather than for voltages.
