in a series rlc ckt how i can improve power factor .
 

but one book suggest add capacitor parallel to the circuit for improve power factor of series lcr may you explain the reason
 

Yes, if the RLC circuit has an inductive impedance. You can calculate yourself. It's simple AC network calculation.
