Does anyone know what is the power consumption difference between 0.18 and 0.13 micron technologies? How much power can one save if you move to a smaller technology?

if smaller the technology power comsumption of cmos will be reduce.
then only we can tolerate the ignal intregrity problem and wire load models
less power for smaller technolgy

If you operate with the same frequency and the same power supply, power consumption can be reduce as much 35 %

Careful though. For standby conditions 0.13um can be worse than 0.18um because the off-state leakage of the mos devices is higher.

that's true. But in operating mode, the smaller technology the lower power required

Can anyone pls advise why Prescot (Intel p4) is so hot? Someone said it's caused by the 90nm process, is it true?
