I have a 12V to 230V/50Hz , 1000 Watt Home Inverter whose circuit based on pic16f72. The AC output voltage is so high as 285V. Due to this high output voltage many appliances like CFL, LED lamps etc failing when running on inverter. How to reduce the output AC voltage of inverter?? Please give a solution.
This inverter probably was designed to operate with a minimal load so that it is expected to drop a few the output voltage. Make a test to check if the 285v decreases with a load of about 10% of the rated value.
Is this voltage obtained using a peak or rms scale ?
A cheap inverter has a squarewave output. The peak voltage is the same as the RMS voltage. That is why many electronic products do not work properly when powered by a squarewave inverter because they rely on the higher peak voltage of a sinewave.
