Please help me fix my Panasonic television!

My PT-53WX53G television recently went black and the power light on the front panel flashes red in sequences of five. I bought this TV from a friend and do not have the service manual. Can someone tell me what is wrong with it and whether it is worth fixing versus just buying a new tv?
 

Hi, i suggest you should cheak the horizontal section of your tv, remove the darlinton transistor and test the signal at the base.
