what is: PlanAhead - Hierarchical Floorplanning from Xilinx?

The PlanAhead system is employed between synthesis and place & route enabling designers to implement a block-by-block implementation approach. The tool adds functionality to help Virtex-4 designers rapidly analyze, modify and achieve superior performance on each of the blocks. Blocks can then be stitched together in a final assembly phase.
......
The PlanAhead v2.2 solution is immediately available for use with the Integrated Software Environment (ISE) 6.3i FPGA design suite from Xilinx. The tool is priced at $15,000.

New 2.2 version has been released.

Will the planAhead been included in ISE?

Did you see the price? I don't think so.

What about Synplicity's Amplify?
Which one is better? or do we need to use both of them in our future Huge design?

I don't think you can really compare them. PlanAhead is for Virtex4 only, so it should be much more specific.

how abt the floorplanner that comes along with ISE 6.2..

our college is tryin to buy the latest version.. how good is the 6.3 anyone whos evaluated?

with regards,
