I have MCP3208 which is Microchip 12bit A/D converter with SPI build in protocol.

Is it possible to read it using standard SPI protocol in PIC16f87x.

How if it is possible?

SPI can be read by any microcontroller, it can easily be done in software if speed is not a concern. MSSP means it has the SPI in hardware.

Hi blueroomelectronics,

Thanks for answer.

I know how SPI works.

But real question is it possible to do it with e.g. 877, just with configuring build in SPI, or I have to do some nasty coding to read AD converter with SPI?
