Hello there,

I have a broadcom phy BCM5488 with this setup:

RGMII(MAC) ----- BCM5488PHY ----- SFP with PHY(SGMII)

I've noticed that when I read via i2c the phy registers on the sfp side everything appears to be correct, my doubt is would the autonegotiation, link and all other ethernet status appear on the BCM5488PHY ?

Do I need to read all comunication status on the SFP side ? Or no, if things are properly configured, they should appear on both PHYs.

There is a configuration for RGMII-to-SGMII_SLAVE on the broadcom chip, and I'm using, but all the status are dead.
