PCIe solution : Xilinx Vs Altera

can anyone tell me which is a better solution for PCIexpress based designs...
is it Xilinx Virtex-5 LXT devices or Altera's Stratix II GX ...

can u plz provide me an insight into this...(may b if possible an overall comparison for PCIe endpoint blocks)

I used the Xilinx Spartan 3 PCIe start Kit. It's ok with the PIO demo. But you have to write code to cope with the DMA.
