patch antenna excitation

Dear freinds,
my problem is: why the almost microstrip line used as the feed line for the patch antenna are 50 Ohm? i ask you also if we can use other 74 Ohm feed line excitation for this antenna?

fix antenna excitation

i think you can use 74 Ohm feed line to excite the antenna. Using the 50 Ohm became our custom. lots of equitments support the 50 Ohm...
 

thanks, so please can you tell me how we can determine the input impedance for the UWB antenna, so here we have a broad band frequency, and we know that the input impedance is calculated for a single frequecy. i ask you please to explain me this problem & send me if you have some theoretical doc. thank you very much
