parallel input Digital potentiometer

I need convert a parallel digital 8 -bit input to control the on duration of n5e55 monostable,

i thought of digital potentiometer but i found all serial communication,
is there any parallel ones ?

if not, i think of dac but how to convert analoge voltage to duration of ne555, is there any solution

Hi,
A voltage to current converter circuit can be used. For your purpose a R2R DAC for converting the 8 BIT input into a control voltage, should be the cheapest/easiest implementation.
