Parabolic dish Feeding Problem

Hi,

I am using a parabolic antenna but i don't have a horn antenna to feed it.So what are the possible alternatives can i use a monopole antenna as feeder and Parabolic dish as reflector.
So, In Case what will be the feed assemly i.e the conductor of coax cable should be attached with Monopole and the ground with the parabolic reflector.

Or help me selecting any other feed assembly and what will be effect on gain if Feeding parabolic antenna with any other source.

How polarisation is set with monopole antenna as feed.

The reflecter of parabolic dish is only make parallal beam irrespective of the feeding antenna type. You can have dipole or yagi antenna or horne antenna as feeding technique. Gain of the antenna is defined as
G= (π²D²)÷ λ².

You do not mention your frequency. Any parabolic dish can be used with many primary radiators; some are simple dipoles (sometimes with reflectors), some are short waveguide horns, dielectric antennas or subreflectors (like Cassegrain or Gregory).
Take ANY antenna book to learn about details and parameters. A monopole antenna is usually not the best option to irradiate a parabolic dish as its radiation pattern is not symmetrical.
