nv-ds60 kassette

Hi All

Hope you's can advise on this problem :-

When I put a mini Dv cassette in the my Panasonic NV-DS60, the cassette warning symbol comes on the lcd. Which won't allow me to record anything.

The manual (not repair manual) states:
The slider position on the cassette - which is ok
Audio dubbing on a blank portion of the tape - Don't think i'm doing this?
No cassette inserted - well I've tried three new ones

Had a quick look inside where the cassette goes - checking the four metal spring strips at the top which I think is for cassette recognition and the little needle that checks the slider position, everything seems alright.

I can play the tapes in vcr mode but cannot do anything in record mode.
Anyone have any ideas?

Many thanks

Are you sure that it is the cassette warning light?
I know that there is a problem with the condens sensor. When you are turning your camera on, the condens sensor will blink and within 10 seconds it will turn the power off. This happens even if your camera is not wet!
