optimized FFT for 5 components

Hi,

I have a comlex waveform which contains harmonics. I am taking 32 samples per cycle. But I am interested only in first five components. I dont need all components for harmonic measurement. How can I optimize FFT in this case.
 

Hi suryakant,

Use Goertzel algorithm. You will find it in digital signal processing bibliography.
An alternative would be direct computation of DFT only for the components you need.

Hi, DFT for the app seems better and working also.. :)
I had tried with goertzel before also.. was not working.. may be i have made some mistake in calculations.. will try it some other time...
