Hi everyone, I'm trying to learn more about fpga design and now I want to improve a design to be customizable while running with HPS instructuions but I want that the changes to be done giving commands on a terminal. Do I need to have an operating system installed on the hard processor? And if, how can I do this?
Thank you for the informativo

Hello,

from fact that you pointed out HPS I am concluding that you mean SOC IC (HPS+FPGA fabrick). For example for Cyclone V SoC you can take a look at this web page:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/details/fpga/cyclone/v/soc-ecosystem.html

Thanks for the feedback, btw I watched that free RTOS can be installed on a soft core processor like NIOS II. I dont really have much experience on it and didn't find any tutorial of how to do this process so for that reason I asked first about a SOC IC (HPS+FPGA fabrick). Just to learn how to manage the OS first I would like to implement it on a soft processor and then merge it together on a SOC. Is there eny resource about the complete process of this ?
