This Multimedia Frame was designed to make use of parts of the Dell Latitude CPX **broken link removed**.

It is a simple device for displaying pictures, watching videos and listening to music. All the files are automatically played from a pendrive, and the applications are controlled from a remote control.

System used in this project – Windows MX (a modified version of Windows XP) that was stripped of all unnecessary functions. Almost all of the services were disabled, so the CPU usage during the slide show does not exceed 10%.

Menu was written in Visual Basic 6.0. It displays the time, date (reminds the birthdays) and gives the possibility to choose each function.
Gilder application provides the remote control – it is easy to handle and configure, the sensor for remote control can be easily home made.

The screen saver is responsible for the slide show.
Music is played in a player with the simplest interface possible (only the playlist).
All the programs can be remote controlled, but the mouse control function was also added, as it is sometimes useful.

The whole was closed in a wooden frame. On the right side of the housing there is USB port and audio output.
