uController usb based ?

Salam,

I know that PIC16C745 is support a usb communication.
But it's OTP.

Is there any 8051 or PICMicro controllers support usb too and in the same time have flash memory ?

Thanks

Re: uController usb based ?

Hi SphinX,

This might be no help, but do you know there is a UV erasable version of the 16C745 and 16C765? Microchip don't sample them though.

They are OK for development but obviously no use if you need code updates in the product.

To speed things up I keep a few around - one being tested while the previous tests are erasing in a queue. They are pricey though.

FoxyRick.

Re: uController usb based ?

For info, Microchip should release very soon a PIC18 version with USB protocole integrated.

Re: uController usb based ?

Cypress has lots of USB chips/tools/documents based on enhanced 8051.

Re: uController usb based ?

if its only for relais, or other slow data, the most easy is to use the atmel 2313.
But no USB engine on? yes, but for low speed its possible see:

I have never use these MCUs myself, the only Atmel MCUs I have experience with is the AVR family.
But ask in the forum if you have questions, there's probably someone who canhelp you if neeed.

Re: uController usb based ?

Hi Fikus!
Do you have exposure to USB controllers?
The reason for me choosing ATMEL's products is we have good ATMEL support in our location.
Any comments are accepted!!!

Re: uController usb based ?

I worked with F320.
You can buy development kit (240$), and you will not have problems at all.
With kit, you will get IDE and limited compiler (I think 2 KB, maybe 4 KB).
If you need to do something bigger than that you can buy KEIL compiler (2200$).

With this kit, you will also get source code for VC++ GUI application and driver, and you will be able to start working immediately.

- 25 MIPS
- 5x5 mm or 7x7mm
- cost<10$

Cygnal has very good support. The best support I have ever seen ...

uController usb based ?

hi Fikus!
were you talking about keil compiler? i think its very expensive.
So you have exposure to USB protocol!! if you like to help me i have few doughts to be clarified related to USB specs.
