Need help for M.E. Dissertation Topic for Image Processing.

Hi all,
I am new to this forum and I found this forum very helpful in my second semester subject ASIC design.
Now I need help in selecting the topic for ME dissertation thesis.
I am interested in Image processing in areas; enhancement & object recognition.
Please if anybody can help me in suggesting topics. I am comfortable in programming with Matlab.
Let me know if I more specific info is required.

hi arun, Thanks for video link. And as for research papers, I have access to IEEE from my college. but could only find few titles that interest to me from 2012-13 journal.
Topics like flame and shadow detection are also interesting.
One more help needed, If u cant post research paper links then 'Title/Author' will be enough for me.

BTW is it fingerprint recognition/reconstruction?
You can go for Hierarchical Minutiae Matching of fingerprints. Nowadays lots of work are going on for Minutiae Reconstruction of fingerprints. You can go to IEEE and search for them.

Hi,
I need codes for ridge orientation and plot ridge orientation.
found some on mathworks site(e.g. orientation_image_rao.m). but even with clean finger print image, orientation plot is not aligning properly with fp image.
please help in this direction.
