Hi
We have a PCB comprising an offline isolated, 20W SMPS.
There is also a cable exiting this board via an 8 way connector. It takes 7 signals off the board, and has a single ground return. We dont want the cable to radiate noise from the smps. So , since there are 8 lines, presumably we are best off with 8 ferrite beads, rather than common mode chokes?
Also, our ground is earthed, and the enclosure is plastic, so there is no chassis ground. So we have to tie the cable screen to this earth ground, which is the same ground as the signals.
Presumably we need a ferrite bead on this screen connection to the PCB ground?
