when i connect mq-6 sensor as per connections given in datasheet of mq-6 sensor, my regulator starts deadly heating . i found out that , two H terminals are already internally shorted in sensor and i am connecting vcc and ground to that two H terminals. so my vcc and ground terminals gets shorted. is there any solution for this case?

Heater resistance (between both H terminals) should be typical 33 ohm. If it's much less, you either connected the sensor wrongly or it's defective. As a test, the other 4 terminals should be pairwise shorted.

heating of regulator due to MQ6 sensor

i am using dc adapter of 12V Dc supply because my other circuitry requires 12V supply. but i am also including MQ-6 sensor in my project, that requires 5V supply . so i am using 12V supply as a input to the 7805. that increases the power dissipation across my lm7805 and also due to MQ6 sensor my regulator lm7805 is heating as like hell. i don't find any solution of how to reduce heat getting due to MQ6 sensor. but at least i am trying to reduce power dissipation across regulator. please somebody help me to know how i can provide 7V
