Is it ok to place components on both sides? I tend to try and sqeeze everythign on one side.

Is there any logic i need to go through if placing components on the back side of the board. Anything I should be watching out for?

I put parts on both sides very often, with this I make smaller boards. Sometimes copper on other side is used as additional area for heatsink.

You can place components on both sides of the board unless and otherwise you have some restrictions regarding keep-outs and others.
But when you place you must be careful that you are not placing LED'S,SWITCHES and other accessible components on the bottom side.
