I am totally new to CAN. No experience on it at all.

Before starting to go deeper in reading full datasheets I would like to know what is a better start: a Microchip 18FXXXX (CAN module embedded) or any PIC micro plus a MCPXXXX CAN controller?

I would like to avoid a false start and also to evaluate costs of having them supplied here. Forget samples. No way!

Suggestions / comments from any experienced member would be appreciated.
