hi can any one plzz tell me the ways of introducing microbends in a
fibre optic cable and its advantages...!!!!

You can introduce microbending by squeezing a fiber between two metal gratings such as a metal file. The micro-bending induces small changes in the effective index of the fiber that can do a number of things such as outcouple the light, or form a Bragg grating. The advantages are that it is possible to make it tunable and that you can make a sensor out of the fiber.
