Mentor layout tool doesn detect Vcc and GND mistakes

Mentor problem

By my experience, Mentor layout tool can not dectect Vcc and GND short mistakes if we use Mentor as our layout tool and the GROUND layer is negative setting.
Is there any way to solve this mistakes?
 

Mentor problem

Can any one help me in doing backannotation in Design capture schematic for nets routed as bestfit in Expedition PCB version 2002 design?

Which Mentor tool are you using? I don't have any experience with PADS, but both Expedition and Boardstation will flag a VCC to GND short
