mentor edt tool

Can anybody give a little back ground on the logic inside EDT for scan compression and compaction?
Do they use LFSR for achieving this? Please let me know.

Re: mentor edt tool

hi,
I too require the same. Can you please help me if you had any idea of EDT.

compression means stimulus compression. Compaction means response compaction. mentor uses LFSR for stimulus compression but each shift cycle has data input to LFSR. It use x-press sequential Compactor which can mask some Xs and response data can be shifted out in several shift cycles. (Combinational compactor normally shift out response data immediately.
