Hi All,

I was wondering if it is possible to measure the actual position of a servo motor?

All the servo motors I have seen only have 3 wires.
2 for power and 1 for the position signal In.

I need a forth for position signal Out.

I now that it must be used internally for the motor to know if it is in the right position. But will it be possible to draw out?

Kind regards
Michael

If the motor has not a build in encoder or zero position sensor the position sensing device needs to be external. If you can put a magnet on the axis you could use a single chip magnetic encoder, like the iC-MA from iC-Haus ( application you find here: https://www.ichaus.biz/product/iC-MA , or here: **broken link removed**, or here: https://www.ichaus.biz/wp_boost_performance ).

Enjoy your design work!
