maxium sampling rates that can be achieved by PIC 16F877A

sampling with pic

HI; i want to use PIC 16F877A as an analog to digital conversion.

can any on tell me what is the maximum sampling frequency that can be achieved by it, if i get back the data through
1. Serial Port
2. Parallel port

Is is simply the frequency of the clock used by this PIC after having been divided by the internal prescaler.
