Quick question about LVDS LCD transmitters such as the TI SN75LVDS* or National DS90C* series chips. Is there a way to get them to output an image (just a solid color) on an LCD without a graphics controller? For instance, could I tie all the red data lines high and get a red image to output on my LCD screen, or do they need to be toggling? If this is possible, what would I need to tie the HSYNC, VSYNC and DE lines to?

Or, is this technique not even possible and I need something controlling all these lines? If so, how critical is the timing?

Thanks
