Hi friends,
I have been working on LPC2148. I have created the hex file.
While uploading the code to board it is showing me the error

"Operation failed. (failed to autobaud - step 1)".
can anyone resolve the issue
I have connected to COM1,
Baud rate -9600]
Device -LPC2148
Interface -None(ISP)
Oscillator Frequency -12 Mhz

(failed to autobaud - step 1)

This implies the receiving device is supposed to adapt itself to the speed of high-low transitions. However it was unable to do so. Possibilities to look at:

* signal not arriving (broken wire)
* inverted polarity
* excessive noise in signal
* cable has improper ground

- - - Updated - - -

* Voltage for a '1' is too high or too low.

* Voltage for a '0' is too high or too low.

I have the same problem with two reasons:
1. you need to find the optimal baud rate, maybe 9600 in your case is too slow,
2. I dont know which dev. board you use,
but to program upload LPC you need to switch to BOOT mode,
"Press ISP LOAD tactile switch, then press RESET tactile switch while ISP LOAD is being held, release RESET then release ISP LOAD..."

Hi friends,
Again it is showing me the uploading problem.
"Operation failed. (failed to autobaud - step 1)".
can anyone resolve the issue

Since it was a bad connector before, maybe it's a bad connector again. Probably intermittent. Makes it frustrating to track down.

Wires develop internal breaks from repeated bending. Contacts get tarnished. Etc.

Can you test the cables alone (so as not to risk ruining expensive devices)?

Check continuity from each wire to its contact tab/pin/lug. (Sometimes I stick pins through insulation to do this.)

Hello,
I have also same problem and error message is - Operation failed. (failed to autobaud - step 1)". Can any one kindly help me its very urgent.
