layout techniques ?

A text book ' IC Mask Design --- Essential Layout Techniques' writed by Christopher Saint and Judy Saint is very good for beginners.

Added after 4 minutes:

other book:
IC layout Basics: A practical Guide ( also by Christopher)
The Art of Analog Layout (by Alan Hastings)

A Chinese website is very good :

www.chalayout.com

but you must know Chinese

Re: layout techniques ?

ART OF ANALOG LAYOUTS is the best book to follow.

But start with JACOB BEKAR to understand fundamentals.

All the best.

Mahendra

Re: layout techniques ?

Hi

For understanding the IC flow and having an overview of the techniques at beginners level Dan Clien is good.
After that u can upgrade to other books like Alan Hastings, Saint etc

And play around with the tool a lot.

The Art of Analog Layout - Alan Hastings

Re: layout techniques ?

My opinion,
If you have colleagues ,or friends who know the layout ,then let them give you a simple example, and explain it . I think by this way ,you can have a rough idea about analog layout. And then you can refer to the books the others have recommended.

Re: layout techniques ?

Hi,

For custom layout, you can also refer to the material on my web site:

www.eda-utilities.com/CMOS_Transistor_Layout_KungFu.pdf

For digital layout (i.e. place and route), I believe there is book focus on this topic; the best learning materials are the document that come with the software.

Eng Han
