Hi,

I brought a HP computer with only SATA HD installed. The mandrivia Linux and SuSe 9.0 did not recognize the SATA drive. I also try to install Ubuntu Linux. However, Ubuntu only boots the Linux. I would like a dual-boot (Linux/Windows) System.

Re: Linux for SATA Drive

Try RedHat Enterprise Linux 3 or 4 or their clones, CentOS 3 and 4. It worked for me.
Good luck!

Linux for SATA Drive

You can try to use boot managers such as grub, lilo, or spfdisk for dual boot Linux/Windows.
