After calculating the power consumption of the new system I made ive figures that it can work for more than 10 years. But the system is powered by a 5000mAH LiPo ( Lithium Polimer) battery. Obviously I know that this batterys charge wont last that long. but How long would it last? please help me.

LiPo/LiIo aren't the best options for such a long operational time. Its self discharge rate is way too high. You should consult the manufacturer for the presice figures.

Tell more about the application.

could you kindly tell me a typical value? the place I got it from is hobyking and its brand is Terngy. Do you have any idea?

As far as I know, typical lithium batteries don't hold there charge for more than a year or so. And even when their charge is managed appropriately, the lifetime of common Lipo and Li-ion cells is around 5 years max.

If you don't need a high output current, I suggest you look at different chemistry.
Li/SOCl2 has an extremely low self discharge rate.

Dear Shaiko,

where is it possible to buy Li/SOCl2 batteries?

thank you

thank you Shaiko for your reply.

Could you also please help me understand the difference between Lithium Sulphur and Li/SOCl2?

I am currently using 5000mAh LiPo battery for my tracker circuit. Even though my tracker is so much low power and can last for more than 8 years with that battery, because LiPo wouldnt hold the charge for even one year the lifetime of my tracker it cut down by 7 YEARS!! its such a sad scene.

I found this other vendor using Lithium Sulphur batteries and offering a long duration.

The vendors you provided me are also great! thank you! there are highly energy dense batteries offering shelf life of 10 years and I cant believe that! really cool!
I dont know why, I was goggling for one day and these sites you provided never made into my google results!

--- updates later --

hey found this crazily good battery

http://www.cnhcb.com/upimg/ER/ER34615M.PDF
- 13000mAH if discharged at 1mA and 6000mAH if discharged at 1.8A.
- Shelf 10 years.
- pulsing current 3500mA and max continuous 1.8A. I am more than happy. But sadly it I think is not rechargeable.

I need to find myself a rechargeable battery.
May be I should settle for Lithium Sulphur. I think its rechargeable.
