I am using a rechargeable NiMH battery (300mAh,4.8V) to supply the WSN mote. The battery gets an average energy of 300J per day from a solar cell. Assuming that the mote consumes 0.163928mAh per day. Can anyone please say me the life of the mote and how to calculate it?

what is the operational voltage of mote?
If we assume it is 4.8V then ;
300 J = 300 W.s = (300/3600)Wh = 0,8333333 Wh
0.83333333 Wh = 0.163928 mA x4.8 V x t
then t = 1.05906928 h
t= 3812.649 seconds

Sorry I forget mili amps;
0.8333333 Wh = 0.163928 A x 0.01 x 4.8V x t
then t = 105.90928 h
t = 381264.9 seconds

hi mkdir thanks for ur reply.
u have used (available capacity)/(consumption of the mote in mA/hour ). this will be ok for a nonchargeable source
is not necessary to include the possible charge/recharge cycles of the battery,
which will increase the lifetime further.
please clarify....

If the 0.163928mAh/d number is right, the system would probably better run from a non-rechargable Lithium battery.

There won't be noticeable discharge of the NiMH battery, self-discharge may be higher than regular load.
