Hi,
I'm looking to build a solar charge controller for lead acid battery rated 35Ah. The panel is rated 200w at 24V. I haven't yet built this circuit other than playing around with the example buck converter circuits on LTSpice. I would want to have a prototype running on the breadboard first. Have following questions :
1) My switching frequency would be 300 khz, is this a problem to build on breadboard ?
2) Which switcher IC ? I searched in digikey, but couldn't find any for my specification: 15 - 40V @ 8A.
i would need this to simulate as well, can i find spice model ?

Does my approach make sense or iam not on the same page as other designers out there ?

Thanks,
Srinivas

Just buy it from eBay. Save your time and money.
300kHz is too low. Efficency will be low.
And MPPT are recomended for solar powered applications.

Well, this is for learning only. So, buying is no fun
