Hi,

I have implemented a LC typer DC to DC converter as shown in figure attached. Initially i have used a constant voltage at +ve input of error amplifier. For the second step, i want to provide an envelope signal at error amplifier positive input. However, the simulations are taking huge amount of time even for constant reference voltage at +ve error amplifier input. Simulations will be taking even more time if i put a varying envelope signal at the +ve error amplifier input.

Can anybody suggest that how can i simulate this DC-DC converter output when an envelope signal is given at error amplifier +ve input. Right now i am doing transient simulations and i need to simulate that what is the maximum envelope signal frequency, the converter is able to follow.

Looking forward for your replies.

1.

One thing to try is to experiment with different values for the time step. Fast values, slow values.

2.

I suspect that a feedback circuit requires more time to calculate each frame. Therefore it should help if you can find every way to substitute simpler components.

Example, where you have the gate driver and mosfets, consider putting in a SPDT relay instead. This could make the action go faster.

Later, after getting the bugs out of the error amplifier (hopefully), you can re-install the gate driver and mosfets.
