Layer visibility Query

Hi,

What are the possibilities of below scenario :
I am not able to view a layer say VT_L in the layout.
But while checking the summary or extracting the GDS, I can
observe there is VT_L layer in the file.

Just what to know what are the possible reasons?.
It is true for entire library.

Go to edit valid layers and select edit valid layers that time you can see all the layers present in the layout.
