latch in current steering DAC

Hi, Guru

I am wondering if it is possible not using latch in the DAC design. What is the advantage and disadvantage ?

BTW: I want to use an DAC to coarsly set the gate voltage of the pass transsitor with large device size depending on the load current conditions.
