Hello. Every laptop screen's brightness is controlled by PWM which to others causes flickering problems and to others an annoying buzzing sound (in my case the latter). If i don't care about modifying my laptop could i disconnect the PWM and power my screen from the main laptop power with the use of a potentiometer?

Hi,

yes. You may use a high power pot.
Like this.

Maybe smaller, maybe bigger.
It depends on voltages and currents...
