Hi,
Can anyone point me where to get the information regarding how to control the JTAG port in order to perform the in system flash programming?
Thanks in advance
Jackson
Hi Dainis,
Thanks for your information. As i know the flash programming method via JTAG port is not only got to do with the device brand but also very depends on the processor. Most open source project are based on the StrongARM chip. In my project, i use S3C44B0x device. Can it possible get success merely to modify the public code without knowing the device internal scan chain configuration ?
Regards
Jackson
Hi, jackson
As I think you hav 2 choices of using JTAG.
1.You may modify JFlash utility for StrongArm, source code is available on the intel's site and programm flash via boundary scan interface.
2. This method is simpler than method 1.
The S3C44B0x has 8KB onchip SRAM memory . You must write programming utility on ARM C or Asm language and load that utility to the onchip SRAM using JTAG ICE and run it. Then download Flash image via UART or other interface and burn it to the flash.
You can download test_44b.zip from Samsung site and see examples of programming AM29F008 flash memory.
