Hi,

I am using synopsys liberty NCX to characterize IO libraries simulator is hspice.

I am encountering the following error :

no dc path to ground from node

I understand that this generally occurs when the gate of a trasnsistor is floaing. what shud i do to vercom this issue.

Regards,
Satish

I understand that Spice sometimes requires that you add a 'dummy' component in odd places.

Try installing a hi ohm resistor. High enough that it won't alter circuit operation much. Perhaps it will eliminate the error.

Dear Satish

Did you diesigned IO cells as subcircuit?
I think you must set VDD and VSS properly for the subcircuit to have correct connections and let NCX to characterise the cells.
Bt could i ask you why you do such things? Is not there libraries which have IOs?

Regards.
Oveis

You can add one line in the netlist for connecting VSS to GND:

vgnd vss 0 dc 0v
