Hi,

I have a netlist which was generated by somebody. I have the same RTL that they used. Is it possible to regenerate the same netlist without any difference if I resynthesis it?
Advance Thanks for your answer.

Thanks,
Gajen

Hi Gajen,

It might not be possible. The new netlist will be equivalent with the old netlist, but it will not be exact replication. Netlist is a gate level representation of an RTL created by synthesis tools.

Regards,
Ganesh

Could you clarify the difference you tolerate?
And why you need the same result?
Normally with the same tool, versions and the same rtl you will have at least the same timing and the same area.

Not possible to get same netlist in 2 different runs.

yes guys, it is not possible to recreate the same netlist (I was trying to do this for an ECO). As rca said timing and area is same. Thanks for giving your inputs.
