IQ Demodulation In ultrasound

WHy do we do IQ Demodulation for recived raw RF data.Can anyone explain in detail....than u
 

Because many apps want both amplitude and phase or
frequency and phase.

So two unknowns, needing two variables.
 

People do use IQ demodulation because the transmitted signal is QAM.

Since QAM utilizes amplitude and phase variation to carry information, it appears that QAM increases transmission efficiency. However, it has all the drawbacks of AM and PM schemes.
 

Does it have any relationship with sampling frequency....
