hi,
I tried to interface Ir sensor(4.42v output, 3.69ma dc under no obstacle,0.48v 0ma dc under abstacle) with 8051 but the controller does not detect the voltage level properly, is there any fundamental reason?
thanks in advance

Is it a current loop output ? If so, then you need a proper resistor to convert the current into a volatage for the 8051 to be able to "read'.

Other than that, there is no "fundamental" reason why it shouldn't work. How do you know the 8051 is not 'detecting' the voltage ? Maybe your code is wrong ??

hi kripacharya,
thanks for replying my message.
the controller detects direct 5v or ground voltage from the smps by this i ve checked it.
but it does not detect only if it is from IR detector...
I ve no idea about what do you say by current loop
thanks
