Interface a USB computer keyboard.

Hello,
Would anyone know how i could get the data of the keystrokes from the keyboard.

It's a USB connection and i can't find anywhere online that tells me how to get say ASCII codes from the usb keyboard.

What i would like to do it be able to get the data and be able to see bit by bit the ASCII code.

Could anyone give me any hints or suggestions on where to go from here?

Google is not your friend but it's very useful.

Google "usb keyboard protocol" and you will find some information.

if you are referring to usb keyboard for PCs , then remember that the keyboard does not send ASCII code.

you must have a system either microcontroller/dsp based one with usb interface whare usb KB is accessed as a HID device.

an appropriate routine to get the keycode is required to decode the codes from KB.
