We want to improve our research and project

Now we need to used some other kind of low cost Tx Rx
this paper uses HT640 and Ht648 as encoder and decoder and 433Mhz ASK transmitter

i want to explore more options for communication
I need two different type of communication
1> short range 50Mtrs
2> long range 1kM

Suggestions for RF Tx/RX are welcomed any thing other than zigbee.

other enhancement in project are also welcomed

Based on these papers one can do a very wireless communication project or project on embedded system or project on Intelligent Public transportation system
