Installing VGA with linux

my VGA driver wasn't defined by linux redhat 9 and i have a definition so i copied it to usr-->X112B "i don't remember" --> lib -->modules-->driver
and then i tried to install it again but still it gives a kernel error is there more thing that i must do ?? .. thanks so much in advance :idea:
