I am running the files as root user - isnt that administrator ? Thank you.

Look for an option "Run as Administrator". I've seen this in Win 7. I can't verify for other environments. Administrator is a level you select when creating an account. It allows greater privileges compared to an ordinary user.

Or Type "sudo <installation script/program> then password ..it will run.
